I would've died as a pioneer.
This is one of my favorite thoughts during the summer. Not dying of course, but the reality of pioneer living. This thought usually occurs in summer because I'm looking for something to read, and when I can't find something I revisit the "usuals." Laura Ingalls Wilder being one of them. Yes, it's for little kids, but sometimes those are the best. And someday when I go to heaven I'm tracking Ms. Wilder down and listening to her talk. She is one strong woman. So is her mother for that matter. Living in the middle of nowhere with a gun and making pork while your husband is off to town does not sound like my idea of fun housekeeping. Although, I do not mind the gun part. At least I have that. But I am not an outdoorsy kind of person. This is fine with me; I have no probelm admitting this. It's all Eric can do to get me camping. Or Mom to get me to the cabin.
Anyway, when summer begins, I start collecting books to read, and I have a certain method of doing so. I like to read by author. So I either find a series by an author or just all the books by one author to read. Right now, I'm stuck and am not sure what series or author to read next. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you ever read anything by Beverly Lewis? She writes books that are set in Amish Country. I was really into them a while back. It is such an interesting life style. The books are fiction, but you can tell she has done her research. Just an idea! =)
