Props to a Good Friend

I'm dedicating this post to Sarah A. If you have not checked out her blog, please do so in my blog list (the one titled Learning Something New Everyday...I'd give the link here but I can't figure out how to).

Anyway, I was reading her current post about Friendships, and I found myself thinking. I always love her blog posts; some are funny, some have amazing photos, and some are really thought provoking. Sarah is definitely one of my close friends who always inspires me. She was the one to get me blogging to begin with.

The first time I remember meeting Sarah was at the Loleta Ranch. Dad had hired Garrett and I to work for the summer, and we were hauling away "junk" (disgusting, rotting trash is more like it, but to each his own). It, of course, was overcast that day and when lunch time came, Sarah stopped by with a fabulous lunch of lasagna, salad and cookies. So yummy! (FYI-she makes the yummiest chocolate chip cookies). As usual, whenever I meet someone, I'm usually pretty quiet, and I wasn't feeling too social since I was covered in the smell of pinesol and garbage. And perhaps really covered in garbage somewhat.

It wasn't really until I moved back to Fortuna after college that we really began our friendship. She introduced me to Nascar (yay!!) and we would go for walks. Especially being single at this time, her friendship was a great comfort. It was even more fun to found out the ways we are alike (such as being News Editor for the Husky Howler!).

I've blogged before about how supportive she was when Dad died as well and I will cherish her support always. I love her friendship and I miss her dearly.

I know I definitely need to be better about emailing and calling (I'm not a good phone communicator), but Sarah, I want you to know how special you are to me and even though I don't call you as much as I should, you are and always will be one of my closest friends!!!

Aw, thanks! That is so sweet! I miss you too. Don't worry, I am not very good with the phone either. I know we haven't been friends all that long, but I consider you one of my closest friends too.... even at the distance!

I really want to come visit you one of these days, although probably not in the summer when its 150 degrees. Hopefully this winter! I didn't get to see much of Phoenix when we were there for your wedding so hopefully I can get there soon! I saw your mom and Ken at the rodeo, which was a nice surprise. I miss them too!
