Dove Exfoliating Face Wash

Well, I am at home feeling moody and down. I have this overwhelming urge to talk to Dad. For some reason, it is bothering me more today than is usual lately. I'm actually feeling the sudden "can't breathe" ache that occurred so often in the beginning of my grief journey.

In any case, I decided to take a shower. First, I didn't take out my contacts. This was probably my first mistake. Next, I decided to wash my face in the shower. I used my Dove Exfoliating Face wash that I've had in there for about a year. Not my favorite, but I can't buy something new until I use it all up. Usually, I don't get my eyes wet (as it doesn't work so well with contacts). I decided to tonight. This was my second mistake. Next thing I know, I have one of those little exfoliating beads in my eye with my contact lens. Nothing can truly describe the stinging. What word first pops into my head? "Genius," I say to myself. So, I now have to stumble out of the shower (with it running, since I still have conditioner in my hair) and take out my contacts.

The exfoliating bead did not want to come out of my eye. Of course I did the usual-rinse out the eyeball. Probably I have now exfoliated my eyeball. The problem is this was all in my "good" eye ("good" meaning 1.25 better than my other eye). Plus I can't see anything-not just because the Dove Exfoliating Face Wash is foaming all over my eye, but now also because I am blind without my contacts or glasses. I would've died if I lived before a time they made glasses. Stumbled and tripped down a cliff of some sort. Or possibly been checked into a facility for blind people. Anyway, stumbling back into the shower was indeed a task, as water was now all over the floor. And tile floors are slippery when wet.

I'm not actually sure I got the exfoliating bead out of my eye. It still stings, and my little eyeball is all red and inflamed.

It's amazing how doing something dumb can kind of cheer you up.
